Riachrya Chem is also a shapeshifter from the planet Proteus, but she couldn’t be more unlike her colleague, Tony. Riachrya is an astrophysicist, advanced shapeshifter, and trained combatant. While the Proteans are a peaceful race, Riachrya received extensive training in espionage when she joined the initiative. Also unlike Tony, she also has training as an astronaut and serves as Lieutenant Commander. Now she works with D.E.L.T.A., the Department of Extraterrestrial Life and Terrestrial Activities which monitors the activity of supers and is also responsible for alien relations.
Riachrya (pronounced Ri-ATCH-ryuh) is 39 Earth years old (~30 years old developmentally) and tops out at six feet and five inches. Proteans are generally taller than humans but the females tend to be taller and stronger than the males, unlike the human race. This makes her stick out like a sore thumb on Earth and while she’s a talented enough shapeshifter to augment her height, she doesn’t see any reason to.

(reblog with some info I forgot)
The catsuit you see her wearing is in fact a type of armor developed by Proteans. It’s composed of metal and is difficult to break through, but it is still extremely flexible, and most importantly, shifts along with the wearer when they move between forms. Riachrya wears this beneath her clothes no matter what form she’s in, in case she finds trouble, or needs to move more discreetly. The metal can also change color and, to a limited extent, texture, for camouflage.

I hear it is Magical Girl May, which means it must be time to roll out my magical girl design for the superhero challenge! Lee Lockhart was your everyday 14 year old girl…until one day while cleaning out the attic she found some dusty old belongings of her great great grandfather, a renowned ringmaster of his day. Weirdest of all was this murky, dusty blue orb that seemed to have no purpose…until it got a bit too close to his cane and something ~*magical*~ happened! Now Lee has the ability to operate the cane by connecting the two pieces - at least in theory. She has no idea how it actually works but she will have to learn if she wants to fight magical monsters and keep the staff out of the hands of other interested parties.
…this probably sounds like every magical girl plot ever, but granted I spent most of my effort on the actual design. Were I to write this story it would obviously be much more awesome o/

Superhero Challenge Day 8 - celebrity
Marina Reyez may be young and rather small at just under 5’2”, but she packs a huge punch. Marina has the ability to create bombs in her hands, though at a pretty heavy cost - the bombs rip open the skin of her palms and the wounds take days to weeks to fully heal.
Before her powers developed in late puberty, however, Marina found success as a singer-actress. She starting taking piano classes from a young age, followed by singing classes at 13, performing at every chance she got. She was discovered at 14 and found international success by 16, her debut album selling millions of copies. She’s since released another album and two blockbuster movies and is working on her third release. Often hailed as the princess of pop, Marina was at the height of her fame when she began to develop her powers, at first in small pops, then bigger and more destructive with time.
Marina pulled away from her staff, family, and friends, afraid of what she had become. At the same time, Tony Blackwell was assigned to keep tabs on her as her security guard. She resisted against all his offers of help for a while but eventually they became good friends. He introduced her to more people like her to train with and learn from, and designed special gloves for her that minimize the damage on her hands.
I put a question mark for her alias because I haven’t picked one yet! It has to be really good. Suggestions are welcome <3

tiny bonus for this blog, this is just a sketch I did while brainstorming for my Batman redesign.

Day 7: redesign of a superhero you dislike
My least favorite superhero is Batman, for many, quite lengthy reasons, but in short I just don’t find him relatable at all so I wanted to redesign him completely. I chose a few things which I deemed fundamental to his character to remain the same - the death of his parents, his name, his wealth, and his symbol - and changed pretty much everything else. (Of course all his intellectual and physical abilities remain the same as well.)
Bruce Suleiman Wayne is an Arab-American born to immigrant parents, who changed their last name and gave their son an English name in effort to assimilate. They always encouraged patriotism in their son hoping he would get along well in America, but a year after 9-11, when Bruce was 16, they died in a mosque fire. No one could prove whether it had been an accident or an act of hate, and the question haunted Bruce. His parents had taught him to be loving of all people and tolerant of those who were misguided, and he struggled enormously trying to forgive murderers who had no name or face and may not even exist.
This led Bruce to getting into a lot of trouble, living on the streets and getting into fights because he didn’t know where else to direct his anger. After a few weeks he was taken in by a neighbor/family friend when she realized he was homeless (this is Alfred’s character). Bruce didn’t immediately stop acting out, but one night he came across a literal fortune stuffed in a bag, abandoned in an alleyway. Bruce started with taking a small amount, figuring someone would come for it, but when the bag stayed there for several days, filled with tens of thousands of dollars, he decided it was an act of Providence and took the bag, deciding to do something important with it.
The rest is more or less history - over several years of investing his money, attending school, and going through intense physical training, Bruce Suleiman Wayne became the infamous Batman in attempt to bring justice to Gotham City, in memory of his parents.
(Thanks to my sister who wrote his name in Arabic.)

day 3: cyborg
Quick upload for tonight because I need to get to sleep! Anne Rodemeyer, cyborg and general badass lady. Might update this later as it’s sorta half finished. Gnight all~

Reblogging this with more info:
Anne is a double amputee with cybernetic legs which give her superhuman agility, but when it comes to taking down baddies, she’ll do it with her bare hands. Anne is a former marine who lost her legs 5 years ago in a freak accident involving Protean technology (see day 2), so the government developed these legs for her use in exchange for her keeping hush. Now she works more or less solo, although the government continues to keep close tabs on her. Whenever she’s not on the job she’s usually training to keep up with her superhuman legs, and she takes supplements provided by the government to keep her consistently in peak health (though she refused them at first thinking they were steroids).Hopefully this anonymous government group will get a name, definitely by Day 23 (agent).

Here’s that full design I promised of Graviton/Check Vo. I posted a painting of him the other day: x
Personality: Check prefers to work solo and has a tendency to wreak havoc just as often as he saves the day (and usually both at once). He didn’t make up the name Graviton, but that’s what the baddies started calling him so he just kept it because it sounded more intimidating than any ideas he had. He likes to say “Checkmate” whenever he wins a fight even though he’s the only one who ever gets the joke.
Costume: While his catsuit looks quite shiny, he can turn off the LEDs in his helmet/chestpiece and be nearly undetectable in shadow. Also he has a badass ponytail on his helmet, which besides looking really cool also highlights where his gravity is directed.
Feel free to ask any questions you have about him \o/

I’ve had this design for a while (not the drawing - that was done today) and I’m excited to post it. I’m quite fond of this character by now ^_^

A painting of a superhero, to introduce my 30 Day Superhero Challenge that I’m putting together. This here is for Day 1: telepathic/telekinetic. Graviton (Grav/Gravi for short) has the power to manipulate gravitational fields around him, so he can walk up walls and on ceilings, but he can also give his opponents a hell of a rollercoaster ride fighting him because he can manipulate their gravity as well as long as he’s touching them. He wears a spandex uniform with metal plating for defense and protects his identity with a sleek, ponytailed helmet.
I’ll post more from his design tomorrow! This is just a teaser.
You can check out the list of challenges here!

Finished with this a few days late but also perfectly on time as it’s Kristen Stewart’s birthday today! Happy birthday to her and of course my good friend Mel who had her birthday over the weekend. She loves Kristen so I made this for her. Some of it is a bit rushed unfortunately as I’m already late with this. I have to admit that I cheated with the lace, using these lovely brushes, because tackling her hair was already enough of a feat. Time constraints or no, I’m still pleased with the result. Hope you guys like it :)

Tom Kaulitz Speed Painting

I uploaded the full version of my speed painting, minus voiceover and condensed into 10 minutes. Put on some appropriate music, sit back and enjoy! <3
